Strafford Saddlery is staffed by a small but mighty team of knowledgeable horse people focused on serving the national equestrian community with great service and great products. As our business grows and our customer base expands, we need several people to help take Strafford Saddlery to the next level.

Customer Service, Marketing & Online Content, Inventory & Receiving, and Order Fulfillment

Customer-facing and behind-the-scenes help is needed in a variety of areas. Depending on your skills, experience and interests, these roles could be full-time or part-time. General descriptions of the available positions include:

  • Order Fulfillment & Receiving Specialist - to support growing online business by processing web orders (from pick to ship), keeping customers updated on expected delivery, tracking shipping activities and addressing any shipping issues. Additionally, responsible for receiving all incoming inventory, tracking backordered items and managing returns to vendor.
  • Sales Team Lead - a leadership role responsible for ensuring store operations run smoothly. The person provides direction to retail sales staff, coordinates store events and sales, manages overall appearance of store, and coordinates third-party services.
  • Marketing & Online Content Specialist - helps manage content for website, social media and other uses and provides support for multi-channel marketing efforts (in-store, online, email, advertising & direct mail).
  • All positions are year-round (approximately 25 - 40 hours per week, 4 - 5 days per week), based in Quechee, Vermont at our retail store.

    Important Skills & Experience:

  • Some relevant work experience or education
  • Detail oriented with strong organizational skills and problem-solving ability
  • Comfortable with office technology and learning new computer programs
  • Equestrian experience a huge plus (but not necessary - depending on role)

  • We are always looking for energetic and dedicated people to join our team as Part-Time SALES STAFF.

    Our sales staff is focused primarily on helping customers find the products they need. They also help with receiving and stocking merchandise, preparing web orders, and maintaining store displays and appearance.

    We need enthusiastic horse people with a passion for providing a great customer experience. You should have:

  • Experience with horses and familiarity with competitive or recreational riding and a good understanding of the types of products we carry
  • Good communication skills and a positive attitude
  • Past retail, sales or customer service experience is helpful but not required
  • Both seasonal and year-round Sales positions are available with a flexible schedule that includes some weekends.

    Related experience is helpful, but we are more interested in individuals who are upbeat, organized and collaborative, with the ability and desire to contribute to the success of Strafford Saddlery.
