Return and Exchange Policy
At Strafford Saddlery, we want you to be satisfied with your purchase. We select our products with quality and price in mind, but if your purchase does not meet your needs, you may return or exchange it. Please return the item to the store or call us at 802-765-4485.
All returns and exchanges must be made within 30 days of purchase. Items must be returned in new, unused condition, with tags, packaging and original receipt.
Consignment items, consignment saddles, clearance/closeout items, special orders and custom products are final sale and cannot be returned.
Any shipping fees on the initial purchase are non-refundable and the customer is responsible for return shipping, unless an item is defective or has been shipped to the customer in error.
Refunds will be processed within 14 days of receipt of the returned item.
If you have purchased an item from Strafford Saddlery which you feel is defective, please contact the store at 802-765-4485 for manufacturer's warranty information. Defective items are reviewed by the manufacturer and replacement items are provided at their sole discretion.

Online Saddle Purchase and Saddle Return Policy
All saddles purchased online are considered "on trial" for 7 days from the day you receive them. If we do not hear otherwise within that time frame, the sale will be considered final.
- If you wish to return a saddle purchased online, notify us within 7 days of receiving.
- If you wish to return a new saddle purchased in store, notify us within 7 days of purchase.
- All Consignment and Sale saddles purchased in store are sold in "As Is" condition and are final sale.
We are happy to provide a label for return shipping of a saddle if needed. The cost of the return label is $50 and will be deducted from your refund.
Shipped saddles should be returned in the box they were shipped in and packaged appropriately. Any saddles returned damaged, due to lack of proper packaging, will be subject to a damaged item fee, which will be deducted from your refund. A restocking fee of 15% may also apply to saddle returns.
Like any other return, in order to be eligible for return, saddles must be in the same condition they were purchased in.
All saddles are available for test rides! It is not necessary to purchase a saddle in order to trial it. For more information, see our Saddle Trial Policy.
Saddle Trial Policy
All new and used saddles are available for trial. Up to 3 saddles at a time can be taken out on trial for 7 days.
A credit card is required for all saddle trials. Saddles not returned within 10 days will be considered sold and the credit card will be charged for the full retail price of the saddle.
Most saddles can be shipped for trial. The cost of one-way shipping is $50 for one saddle and $80 for two saddles.
All saddles on trial must be properly cared for and our saddle care instructions must be explicitly followed. Failure to do so can result in a fee. For the full Saddle Trial Policy and saddle care instructions, click HERE.

Please ship all returns or exchanges with a copy of your original receipt, along with any tags and packaging (even if they have been removed from the item) to the store at:

All items and saddles should be returned via a trackable, insured shipping method. If you chose to not purchase a return label provided by us, Strafford Saddlery is not responsible for items lost in transit.

Strafford Saddlery accepts clean and in good condition items and saddles for consignment. Items are accepted at the discretion of staff and Strafford Saddlery reserves the right to refuse any item or saddle that fails to meet the standards or is deemed unlikely to sell.
Our staff works with each consignor to determine the best price for their item. Price recommendations are determined by market research, sales history and condition of the item or saddle.
