MIPS:

Founded in 1996 by a neurosurgeon and a researcher from the Royal Institute of Technology in Sweden, the Multi-directional Impact Protection System (MIPS) is designed to add protection against rotational motion transmitted to the brain from angled impacts to the head. Rotational motion is a combination of rotational energy and rotational forces from angular acceleration that both increase the risk for brain injuries. MIPS' added protection has been independently proven to reduce rotational motion by redirecting energies and forces that would otherwise be transmitted to the brain.

    • Helmet Shape:

  • Regular/Round - Is shaped for a head which has almost identical front-to-back and side-to-side measurements
  • Long Oval - Is shaped for a head which is longer front-to-back (from forehead to the back of the skull) than it is side-to-side (ear to ear)

    • Fitting & Adjustment

    The One K helmets are available in 3 shell sizes. By using the One K foam liners you can achieve the perfect fit. This system allows the helmet to grow with the young rider. One K helmets are available in 2 shapes, Regular and Long Oval which emphasizes an elongated head from front to back and slightly narrower measurement from side-to-side.

    Wearing the wrong shaped or size helmet can lead to increased pressure and discomfort. One K has options for perfect the fit. Please note that both Regular and Long Oval shaped helmets use the same liners. Shape is determined by shell, not the liner.
